THE STORY BEHIND ...

Producto

The Battle of Glasgow was a historic match between Celtic and Atlético de Madrid in the 1974 European Cup semi-final. The game, played at Celtic Park in Scotland, was one of the most controversial and exciting in Atlético's history.

The 73,000 spectators who packed the stadium knew that one of the keys to the match would be the Turkish referee, Babacan, whom Atlético hoped wouldn't be intimidated by the pressure from the crowd. Just seven minutes into the game, Ayala received the first yellow card of the match, and it was only the beginning.

People like Luis Aragonés and, more recently, Diego Simeone—both players and managers for Atlético de Madrid—forged their legend based on passion and fighting spirit. Atlético fans always rise to the occasion, and that has earned them the respect of all other clubs, making their supporters one of the most loyal in all of Spain.
