After achieving promotion from 2nd B to 2nd Division, Joaquín Peiró took charge of an exciting project for Granada and the president, Alfonso Suárez Medina, wanted to give him the necessary tools.
They ended up signing Lalo Maradona, since, in the words of Diego Armando “he was the best of the three brothers.” To raise funds for his signature, they organized a match against the Swedish team Malmo, a match that left the unforgettable impression of seeing “El Pelusa” scoring a goal in the Granada uniform.
