The Granada of the 1970s, known as “El Matagigantes”, was the most glorious period of the Nasrid club. Trained by José Iglesias Fernández, he had a legendary lineup, with players like Suárez, Castillo and Fernández, all of them flanking Javier Izcoa's goal.
The Basque goalkeeper appears in historic triumphs such as those against Barcelona or Real Madrid for a Granada team that finished in a historic position that season, 6th. On September 29, 1973, the team was at the top of the standings for the first time in its history.
