THE STORY BEHIND ...

Producto

On May 29, 1966, on what was then the outskirts of Mexico City, a colossal idea for football was unveiled to the world: the Azteca Stadium, designed by architects Pedro Ramírez Vázquez and Rafael Mijares Alcérreca, welcomed over one hundred thousand spectators for its inaugural match between Club América and Italy's Torino. The first goal was scored by Arlindo dos Santos under the official gaze of the Mexican president and the FIFA president.

From that day forward, the Azteca ceased to be just concrete and stands, becoming a collective temple: the stage for unforgettable feats, for semifinals remembered as "the match of the century," for World Cup finals where football giants lifted trophies, and for afternoons when the roar of the fans filled every corner of the Colossus of Santa Úrsula.
