Arconada became a goalkeeping icon and a symbol of Real Sociedad during his 15 years at the club, from 1974 to 1989. During his time at the Basque club, Real Sociedad reached one of its most glorious moments, winning two titles of the
Spanish League in the 80/81 and 81/82 seasons. In addition, he was proclaimed champion of the Spanish Super Cup in 1982 and the Copa del Rey in 1987, as well as the Zamora Trophy in three consecutive seasons.
