History of football in Teruel: tradition, passion and legacy.

Teruel has a football tradition dating back to the early 20th century, having been a pioneer in Aragon since 1917. The initiative came from Francisco Pastor Calvo, who founded the Sociedad Deportiva Turolense. Throughout the 1920s, the city saw the rise and fall of several clubs (such as Real Deportiva Turolense), until the efforts of Moisés Salvador culminated in the Rapid Sporting Club Turolense in 1929, which became the leading club of the 1930s.

Over the decades, the club consolidated itself as Club Deportivo Teruel. Matches were held in emblematic venues such as the Llanos de San Cristóbal and the Campo de la Tahona, until the inauguration of the Campo de Ensanche (now the Pinilla) in 1934.
