A dominant midfielder in his prime, Yaya Touré impressed with his ability to control games and score goals from deep. A multiple Premier League winner with Manchester City, Touré left an indelible mark on African football.
9. Abedi Pelé (Ghana)
Known as "The Maestro", Abedi Pelé captivated supporters with his grace and brilliance on the pitch. A three-time African Footballer of the Year and winner of the Africa Cup of Nations in 1982, he shone especially at Olympique de Marseille, where he lifted the UEFA Champions League in 1993.
8. Hossam Hassan (Egypt)
Despite brief stints in Europe with relatively unknown clubs such as PAOK in Greece and Neuchâtel Xamax in Switzerland, the "King Hassan" enjoyed a trophy-laden career across Africa. He also represented his country for 21 years, during which he won the Africa Cup of Nations three times. He remains Egypt's all-time top scorer.
7. Jay-Jay Okocha (Nigeria)
The Nigerian wizard, famous for his ability to beat opponents and his creativity in midfield, left an indelible mark on world football. Okocha shone at Paris Saint-Germain and Bolton Wanderers, celebrated for his unique style and his capacity to score spectacular goals. He was also part of one of African football's greatest achievements: the gold medal at Atlanta '96, where Nigeria's Under-23 side defeated Argentina.
6. Rabah Madjer (Algeria)
Madjer is remembered for his outstanding performance in the 1987 European Cup Final, where his backheel goal helped Porto clinch the title. Considered one of the greatest Algerian footballers of all time, Madjer also shone for the national side, guiding them to glory at the Africa Cup of Nations in 1990.

Kanu is a Nigerian football legend who left an unforgettable mark both at home and at the clubs where he played, including Arsenal and Ajax. With his famous corner-flag dance, Roger Milla became a legendary figure at the 1990 World Cup. The Cameroonian striker was celebrated for his ability to score decisive goals and his remarkable longevity in professional football. He was included in FIFA's list of the 100 Greatest Players of All Time in 2004.
2. Samuel Eto'o (Cameroon)
With an impressive career including success at Barcelona and Inter Milan, Samuel Eto'o is one of the most lethal strikers Africa has ever produced. A three-time UEFA Champions League winner, Eto'o is also Cameroon's all-time top scorer.

Before entering politics, George Weah was an exceptional footballer who captivated the world with his pace and brilliance. Winner of the Ballon d'Or in 1995, Weah left an indelible mark at clubs including AC Milan and PSG.
