The first organized teams emerged in 1923 with the Ávila Football Club, which elected Pedro Gutiérrez as its first president. After being granted the title of Royal by King Alfonso XIII in 1925, the club was consolidated as Real Ávila Football Club. This pioneering club, which ceased operations during the Spanish Civil War, later resurfaced to become the current Real Ávila Club de Fútbol in 1943.
