A few months before the start of the 1990 World Cup, in which the Argentine national team was to defend its title, fashion designer and marketing expert Oscar Tubio contacted the AFA (Argentine Football Association) to propose an innovative design for the Argentine jersey. But why would the AFA listen to him? To understand, we need to know who Oscar Tubio is.

Oscar is a self-taught designer and marketing expert. Among his most notable works are the outfits worn by Carlos Monzón, the jersey Boca Juniors wore in 1981, and the River Plate jersey used in 1986. His work had a very positive impact on both marketing and how rival teams perceived the players. For this and much more, Oscar's proposal deserved, at the very least, to be heard.
