The RC Celta women's basketball team of the 1970s and 80s was a symbol of determination, becoming one of the aspects of the club that evokes the strongest memories among fans.
At the heart of it all was Carmen Martínez, the tenacious center from Vigo. Born in 1960, Carmen was a key player in leading RC Celta to glory, winning 5 league titles and 4 Queen's Cups, in addition to representing the Spanish national team 40 times. Standing at an imposing 1.82 meters tall, she was an unstoppable force on the court, a player who combined physicality, courage, and above all, exceptional character.
