THE STORY BEHIND ...

Producto

Taking advantage of their upcoming match against England, the Scottish national team changed their crest to the "Thistle vs. Rose" design. Their jerseys then sported the colors of the Earl of Rosebery.

On November 30, 1872, the first international match in history was held in Scotland (Hamilton Crescent, Glasgow): Scotland vs. England. The hosts wore their traditional navy blue jersey. However, in 1881, the Scottish national team adopted for the first time a jersey with the pink and yellow colors of the Earl of Rosebery, a famous Scottish politician and aristocrat, founder of the Scottish Football Association. His team was known for wearing these colors, now known as "primrose," in horse racing.
